GAADI FILM AND THING OF OTHERNESS
In Prasanna Withanage’s film Gaadi, everyday objects help show how the Rodee community is treated as different . Simple things like clothes, farming tools, and types of food are used to show the difference between the powerful and the powerless. These objects don’t just represent the differences; they help create and show the unfair treatment and separation between the two groups. This film mainly focus the two groups the powerful and powerless. so the otherness works between this groups in this family. I choose this 2 example, 1) The Wita Kela mark 2) The Begging Bowl THE WITA KELA MARK In the movie, Vijaya uses the wita kela to recognize Tikiri as his wife, marking her as a member of the Rodee group. This small item, placed in her mouth, represents Tikiri as one of the Rodee people, identifying her within their community.
